Welcome, new Valley Annex Member: Mat-Su Conservation Services.
Catherine Inman is owner of Mat-Su Conservation Services (MSCS,) providing natural resource education and hands-on stewardship project coordination to the Mat-Su Borough community. As a long-time environmental educator of 25+ years, her focus is on youth-led conservation projects such as schoolyard habitats, salmon stream restoration, trails improvements, and rain gardens.
Previously, Catherine worked for 9 years at Alaska’s Soil & Water Conservation Districts, and was awarded the 2010 National Outreach and Educational Achievement Award from the National Fish Habitat Board. Catherine also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, staying on to work with a very remote mountain village community to form a cultural preservation school. Blending Community Development and Natural Resource Stewardship is her passion, and MSCS functions as an outreach partner to SDG and a coordinator for local communities to improve habitat and responsible access to habitat through hands-on workshops and demonstration projects.
